There are literally thousands of possible reasons you suffer from anxiety. Finding the cause that triggered your anxiety is impossible; however, sufferers have many things in common. For now, understand that your anxiety is due to repressed emotions and exhaustion. Some say that it is caused by imbalance chemicals in the brain but, that was not proven, and the people who say that also like to prescribing drugs to “help” you get rid of your anxiety. We will take care of your emotions and exhaustion (physical, mental and emotional exhaustion), in the chapter that discusses the cure, but for now let’s understand how your personality caused anxiety.
Over Analyzing Anxious Thoughts
People are mainly divided into 4 groups of personalities.
- The Controller – A type of person that needs to get information and a direct response before he provides information. He needs to control the surroundings.
- The Promoter – A type of person that presents often with a good sense of humor and is restless; loves social entertainment.
- The Analyzer – A type of person who often is very subtle and analyzes situations and thoughts. By doing so he also draws his own conclusions.
- The Supporter – A type of person that gives feedback and needs to get feedback.
Human beings are a little of all the four above, but, each and every one of us is dominated with only one of these 4 personalities. People who suffer from uncontrolled anxiety are often Analyzers. They are very intelligent people who understand things without pointing them out.
That is one of the reasons that you suffer from anxiety. The surroundings project a thought and you dive into it by analyzing it and trying to find a solution.
Sometimes that thought invites a different thought, your brain creates a relationship between the two thoughts, and because you like analyzing you may even try to use that thought to analyze yourself.
That doesn’t mean that you need to shut your brain and not think of things any more. All you really need to learn is how to filter certain thoughts without paying too much attention to them and feeling good in the process. We will get in to all the details in the upcoming chapters and you will learn easy techniques that will filter your thoughts for you. For now keep on taking it step by step.
Over Pleasing Others May Cause Anxiety to Start
Another reason people suffer from anxiety is because they are known as “Pleasers”, people who like pleasing other people. You are a good person, but, not everyone knows how to return a good deed the way you expect them to return it, if at all.
When you repeat the action of pleasing others and you don’t receive an honest thank you or a favor in return, when you really need it, you may get upset. That often causes a situation where you think you were not OK, and you may want to make up for it by pleasing even more. Doing the same things over and over drive you to exhaustion and create anger within you, these emotions eventually become trapped or repressed emotions that bring to anxiety.
